Are you interested in using your skills, experience and time to benefit your school and make a difference in your community?
We are looking to recruit a governor to take on a specific responsibility to support Burnham Copse Primary School with its financial planning. We need some-one who can work well with various stakeholders, and who has an appropriate financial background.
Further to this initial role, any experience in financial planning, premises or facilities management, or the education sector would be beneficial. However we are interested in hearing from anyone who feels they have the ability to work as part of a team to meet the governing body key strategic functions of:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction
- Holding the head to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure that its money is well spent.
You will need to be able to commit sufficient time. We are looking for someone who can take an active role in a project working group, with regular meetings, some of which may be during the day. Attendance at the Finance and Facilities Committee and Full Governors Meetings each school term will also be expected.
New governor induction and training will be provided.

This position is open to anyone in the local community, whether a parent/carer of a pupil or not. The position is for a Co-opted Governor (for a term of 4 years) or for an Associate Governor (for a shorter defined term), dependent on preference. The governing body will review all replies and vote to appoint the selected candidate.
